The work culture and environment at R.E.A.L is one that promotes a healthy work-life balance. Therefore, it is the norm every year for the company to organize various staff events and activities that are not only fun and memorable, but help to build closer camaraderie among colleagues as well. These celebrations usually go hand in hand with major festivals that go a long way in forging a spirit of unity.
2015 was no exception, with the year ending with staff of R.E.A.L Education Group’s Head Office partaking in some good old Yuletide cheer and festivities by organizing the ‘R.E.A.L Christmas Party 2015’ on 18 December at the Windmill Restaurant in Subang Jaya. Invited guests, who included a group of underprivileged children from HOPE Worldwide Malaysia, were greeted with dazzling decorations upon arriving at the venue which added to the Christmas mood, no less.
The sense of wonder and amazement did not stop there, however. With this latest edition of the R.E.A.L Christmas party adopting a costume or dress-up theme, everyone was captivated by the myriad of costumes that were ‘on show’. Staff members were grouped into four pre-determined teams; namely Superhero, Super Villain, Fairytale and Cartoon; with participants having the freedom to choose whichever character they would like to come dressed as (based on their respective teams).
From Pied Piper to Maleficent, Alice in Wonderland characters to Cruella de Vil, Catwoman, the Joker, Supergirl, Zorro and Minnie Mouse, everyone had an ‘up close and personal encounter’ with a host of beloved and famous fictional characters. It was apparent that a copious amount of creativity and resourcefulness were required to bring these characters to life while some seemed larger than life.
With the Christmas period being the season of giving and sharing, the children from HOPE Worldwide Malaysia were treated to a sumptuous buffet lunch and a fun time singing Christmas carols and playing games with the R.E.A.L staff. It was indeed heart-warming to see the smiles and joy on the young ones’ faces as they dined and mingled with new friends, and amazing to note how something as small as spending a couple of hours with these children could potentially make a big difference in their lives.
