Inter-House Games

Promoting sporting excellence and a healthy, active lifestyle has always been part of the R.E.A.L Schools ethos. In line with this, R.E.A.L International School in Shah Alam recently organized its annual Inter-House Games which pitted the collective and individual skills of its students representing the four Sports Houses of Blue, Red, Green and Yellow.

Among the sports events that were up for competition and recognition include track & field, basketball, football, shot put, tug-of-war, and even Frisbee and a ‘jogathon’, to name a few. Held at the school field as well as the surrounding Kayangan Heights area, the competition amongst the respective Houses was stiff but it was all in the spirit of fair play and good sportsmanship. With lots of action on show and several sporting talents unearthed along the way, the Inter-House Games is always an ideal ground to foster unity and teamwork within the school community. And so it proved.

Dskl Football Tournament

In other news – R.E.A.L International School (RIS) Shah Alam provided several teams to participate in the DSKL Football Tournament held at the Allrounders Indoor Soccer Futsal venue in Petaling Jaya. DSKL is the ‘Deutsche Schule Kuala Lumpur’ or German School Kuala Lumpur. RIS had sent a 38-member strong squad who competed in a total of five categories; namely the Under-11s, the Girls Under-15, Girls Over-15, Boys Under-15 and Boys Over-15. Overall, it was valuable exposure and experience gained by the students in their bid to be better players and a better team.

Msss Aquatic Sports Championship

Making waves and a big ‘splash’ in the pool is Cahaya student Derrica Lau. She bagged THREE silver medals and ONE bronze at the ‘Kejohanan Sukan Akuatik Majlis Sukan Sekolah Selangor (MSSS) 2014’. Held at the Pusat Akuatik Darul Ehsan in Shah Alam, the promising swimmer was part of a 12-member strong team from R.E.A.L Schools, Cahaya Campus. Kudos Derrica! Your accomplishments have made the school proud and may this serve as a ‘springboard’ for further success in the future.
