The Cambridge International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) results for May/June 2015 are out! A total of 53 students from R.E.A.L International School, Shah Alam sat for the exam with more than half (56.2%) successfully scoring ‘A*’ or ‘A’ grades in one or more subjects. Over 75% of the students managed to get grades of between ‘A*’ and ‘B’ while a highly commendable 90.6% fell into the ‘A* to C’ category. One particular student, Saw Xiu Min, managed to obtain A+ in all ten subjects which she sat for. Congratulations to the Cahayans on a truly remarkable achievement!

The IGCSE is an academically rigorous and internationally-proven qualification which is offered to students to prepare them for tertiary education. In fact, IGCSE is the world’s most popular international qualification for 14 to 16-year olds. It is fully recognized by leading universities and employers worldwide, and is widely regarded as an international passport to progression and success. The typical ‘core’ curricula for IGCSE candidates include a First Language, Second Language, Mathematics and one or more subjects from the Sciences. IGCSE candidates then choose a number of additional courses ranging from Social Sciences to Music and Creative Arts, just to name a few.

The yearly improvement and success of R.E.A.L International School in the Cambridge IGCSE as well as consistently producing top achievers in the exams is testament to the teaching quality and facilities available at the school. As a matter of fact, Cahaya Campus in Shah Alam is one of only three international schools in Malaysia to be certified by Cambridge UK to run the IGCSE Practical Science programme, with its Chemistry lab being equipped with a gas chamber in order for students to conduct experiments in safe and controlled conditions.
